ABOUT THE ROLE

The Bindery Operator-Folder operates multiple bindery and finishing machines, such as stitchers, cutters, folders, gluers, die-cutting machines, and other finishing/binding equipment. We are looking for someone with several years of experience as an operator in a bindery-folder or finishing setting.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of efficiently operating folding machines, ensuring high-quality output, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced print production environment. This position is excellent for anyone looking for a stable position in a quickly growing company!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain on-time machine operation in the Bindery department.
  • Ensure that assembly practices comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot problems and report findings to the appropriate program manager and departmental managerial team.
  • Perform typical Bindery operations to support the assembly floor.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of experience with Bindery-Folding/Finishing machine operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is frequently exposed to noise – hearing protection (PPE) must be worn.
  • Hand dexterity and strength.
  • Flexibility in work hours may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
