Digital Image Specialist Jobs

A Digital Image Specialist in the printing industry is responsible for the creation, editing, and management of digital images used in various print projects. They utilize software programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign to enhance image quality, correct color imbalances, and resize images to fit the required dimensions. They also ensure the digital assets are organized for easy retrieval and use in the future. Key to this role is a thorough understanding of printing processes and color management, in addition to strong technical skills in digital image manipulation.

Prior to becoming a Digital Image Specialist, an individual could have roles such as Graphic Designer, where they would gain experience in creating and manipulating digital images, or as a Print Production Coordinator, where they would learn about the printing process and requirements. They could also start as a Photo Retoucher, perfecting their skills in editing and enhancing photographs. Essential skills include attention to detail, creativity, and proficiency in graphic design and photo-editing software. Some companies may require certification in graphic design or a related field, or proficiency in specific software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
