Press Operator Jobs in Dayton, OH
A Press Operator in the printing industry is primarily responsible for setting up and operating printing machines. These professionals manage the press process from the beginning to the end, ensuring that the press runs smoothly and that the final product meets quality standards. They install printing plates and cylinders, make necessary adjustments, monitor ink distribution, and perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting. Press Operators also need to understand the specifications of a printing job, including the ink mix, paper grade, and print size.

They should also have an understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work under tight deadlines. While a high school diploma is typically required, some employers may prefer candidates with an associate degree or certification in a related field. Prior experience is often required, with job roles that could lead to becoming a Press Operator including roles such as a Print Machine Assistant, Print Production Worker, or a Bindery Operator.
