Production Scheduler Jobs

A Production Scheduler in the printing industry is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to ensure that all production requirements are met on time. They analyze production specifications, plant capacity data, and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. They also prepare production reports, and monitor the production process to ensure that it stays on schedule. Additionally, the scheduler is tasked with coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules.

Key skills for a Production Scheduler include excellent organizational and planning skills, strong problem-solving ability, as well as solid communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in production scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite is often required. Relevant certifications, such as a Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) from APICS, can also be advantageous. Prior to becoming a Production Scheduler, an individual may have roles such as Production Assistant, Production Planner, or Material Coordinator. These roles provide valuable experience and knowledge in production processes, coordination, and planning.
